Team History[edit]

After the 2008 season the Columbus Catfish moved to Bowling Green, KY to become the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The team, along with the Lake County Captains, moved to the Midwest League in 2010. In 2019, the Hot Rods decided to pay tribute to a recent local event by renaming themselves for one game as the "Bowling Green Sinkholes". It was to commemorate the opening of a huge sinkhole which opened up beneath the National Corvette Museum in the city in 2014, swallowing a number of vintage cars.
