Team History[edit]
The Lexington Legends began play in the South Atlantic League in 2001 and won the league title in their inaugural season. They spent their first dozen years as an affiliate of the Houston Astros before joining the Kansas City Royals organization and have played their home games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Legends lost their affiliation in the minor league re-structuring after the cancelled 2020 season but managed to find a new home in the Atlantic League. They won the league championship in their first season in the Atlantic League. The team was sold and rebranded to the Lexington Counter Clocks in 2023, but returned to the Legends moniker in 2024.
