Biographical Information[edit]

Damon Hollins signed a $1 million deal with the Yomiuri Giants for the 2007 season. He hit .257/.318/.422 as their starting center fielder and Yomiuri signed Alex Ramirez to replace him for 2008.

He spent 2008 in the Kansas City Royals farm system. A great spring training performance nearly landed him a spot on the 40-man roster.

Hollins was a hitting coach with the Burlington Royals in 2010, Kane County Cougars in 2011, Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2012, Idaho Falls Chukars in 2013-2014, Lexington Legends in 2015-2016, and Idaho Falls again in 2017-2019. He also served as the minor league assistant outfield, baserunning, and bunting coordinator in 2018-2019. For 2020, Hollins moved up to the outfield, baserunning, and bunting coordinator position which he filled until early July. On July 3rd, the Royals appointed Hollins as first base coach replacing Rusty Kuntz due to coronavirus concerns regarding the older Kuntz. In 2022, he took over permanently for Kuntz, who remained on the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
