Biographical Information[edit]

Pete Rancont never played professional baseball. Rancont was a college shortstop and made All-Southeastern Conference Eastern Division twice. He then coached in high schools and college. From 1987-1999, he was the head coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He moved into the pro ranks then and coached the Michigan Battle Cats in 2001, Lexington Legends in 2002, Salem Avalanche in 2003, and the Greeneville Astros from 2004 to 2006. He became a minor league manager in 2007. He returned to Lexington in 2009 and Greeneville in 2010 as hitting coach.
