All-Star Game[edit]

The National League won the 2012 All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 by a score of 8 to 0 over the American League. The league's manager was Tony LaRussa.

Postseason[edit]

The 2012 National League playoffs featured the champions of the league's three divisions along with two wild card teams. The teams competed in a Wild Card Game and two best-of-five Division Series, followed by a best-of-seven League Championship Series. The winner of the League Championship Series represented the league in the World Series.

In the World Series, the National League champion San Francisco Giants defeated the American League's Detroit Tigers, 4 games to none.

Award winners[edit]

The winner of the league's Most Valuable Player Award, given its Most Valuable Player, was Buster Posey, a catcher with the San Francisco Giants. In the award's voting, he had 422 out of a possible 448 points and 27 first-place votes.

The winner of the league's Cy Young Award, given its best pitcher, was R.A. Dickey of the New York Mets. In the award's voting, he had 209 out of a possible 224 points and 27 first-place votes.

The winner of the league's Rookie of the Year Award, given its best rookie player, was Bryce Harper, an outfielder with the Washington Nationals. In the award's voting, he had 112 out of a possible 160 points and 16 of 32 first-place votes.
