The National League lost the fifth midsummer classic at Griffith Stadium in Washington, DC on Wednesday, July 7, 1937 by a score of 8 to 3. The league's manager was Bill Terry.
Postseason[edit]
In the World Series, the National League champion New York Giants were defeated by the American League's New York Yankees, 4 games to 1.
Award winners[edit]
The winner of the league's Most Valuable Player Award, given its Most Valuable Player, was Joe Medwick, an outfielder with the St. Louis Cardinals. In the award's voting, he had 70 out of a possible 80 points and 2 first place votes.
