The National League lost the second midsummer classic at Polo Grounds in New York, NY on Tuesday, July 10, 1934 by a score of 9 to 7. The league's manager was Bill Terry.
Postseason[edit]
In the World Series, the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals defeated the American League's Detroit Tigers, 4 games to 3.
Award winners[edit]
The winner of the league's Most Valuable Player Award, given its Most Valuable Player, was Dizzy Dean, a pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals. In the award's voting, he had 78 out of a possible 80 points and 6 first place votes.
