The 2012 College World Series was played at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, NE from June 15 to June 25. Eight teams qualified for the tournament by winning their Regional and Super-Regional Tournaments. The University of Arizona won its first championship since 1986, defeating University of South Carolina in the finals. Andy Lopez becomes only the second coach (after Augie Garrido) to win national championships with two different schools.

The field was broken into two double elimination brackets of four team each.

The teams in the CWS are divided into two pools of four, with each pool playing a double-elimination format. The winners of the two pools meet in a best-of-three finals.

ace Tyler Johnson, pounding him for 7 runs in 2 1/3 IP.
Johnson, who came in 12-1, was given the nod in Stony Brook's first CWS game ever.
Adam Plutko got the win for UCLA.
Game 2 University of Arizona 4-3 Florida State University Joey Rickard and Johnny Field hit doubles in the 12th to give Arizona the win,
as FSU drops its CWS opener for the 4th straight time.
June 16 Game 3 University of Arkansas 8-1 Kent State University DJ Baxendale and Brandon Moore team up on a four-hitter as Kent State
loses their CWS debut. No MAC team had played in the Series since 1976.
Jimmy Rider provides a bright spot with a solo homer in a losing cause.
Game 4 University of South Carolina 7-3 University of Florida Erik Payne hits a go-ahead triple with the bases loaded as
USC wins for the 22nd time in the CWS tournament, extending their record.
June 17 Game 5 Florida State University 12-2 Stony Brook University Mike Compton allows two runs in six innings for the win,while FSU
takes advantage of an error by Stony Brook SS Cole Peragine in a 6-run third.
Stony Brook eliminated
Game 6 University of Arizona 4-0 UCLA Konner Wade throws a 5 hit shutout. Arizona gets five straight hits in the 4th.
June 18 Game 7 Kent State University 5-4 University of Florida National #1 seed Florida bows out in two games thanks to four unearned runs allowed.
With the bases loaded in the 9th, Kent State reliever Josh Pierce struck out
Casey Turgeon after falling behind 3-0, then retires Justin Shafer on a fly to T.J. Sutton.
Ryan Bores got the win, while Florida starter Hudson Randall
leaves in the first due to problems with the heat.

Game 8 University of Arkansas 2-1 University of South Carolina South Carolina loses for the first time after a record 22 straight CWS wins
as Ryne Stanek and Barrett Astin hold them to four hits.
June 19 Game 9 Florida State University 4-1 UCLA UCLA eliminated
June 21 Game 10 University of South Carolina 4-1 Kent State University In a game postponed from June 20 due to weather Michael Roth
tosses a two-hitter while L.B. Dantzler contributes a 2-run homer.
Kent St. eliminated
Game 11 University of Arizona 10-3 Florida State University FSU makes three errors in the first to help Arizona score six runs,
while Seminole starter Brandon Leibrandt only retires one batter.
Florida State eliminated
Game 12 University of South Carolina 2-0 University of Arkansas South Carolina is the first team since 1980 to play two CWS games in the
same day and the first to win two in a day since Holy Cross back in 1952.
Jordan Montgomery and Matt Price combine on a 3-hit shutout
while Tanner English and Chase Vergason drive in the runs.
June 22 Game 13 University of South Carolina 3-2 University of Arkansas Matt Price gets his record 5th CWS victory as South Carolina
reaches its third straight CWS finals. Tyler Webb and Price
combine for 7 shutout relief innings after a rough start by Colby Holmes.
DJ Baxendale walks in the tying run in the 5th as South Carolina ties it.
In the 7th, they win it on another bases-loaded walk, as Adam Matthews
drew a walk from Barrett Astin to score Joey Pankake. Arkansas eliminated
June 24 Game 1 University of Arizona 5-1 University of South Carolina
June 25 Game 2 University of Arizona 4-1 University of South Carolina James Farris and Mathew Troupe combine to hold the two-time defending champs
to three hits. In the top of the 9th, Arizona breaks a 1-1 tie on a double by
[[Brandon Dixon and Trent Gilbert follows with a 2-run single. In the bottom
of the 9th, South Carolina rallied to load the bases against Troupe with one out.
Tanner English lined out to 2B Gilbert and Grayson Greiner flew out
to RF Robert Refsnyder to end the game.
