Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Van Horn has been head baseball coach at the University of Arkansas since 2003 and led the team to the 2004 College World Series. Previously, he coached the University of Nebraska from 1998 to 2002 and took them to the College World Series twice. Van Horn also coached Northwestern State University in 1995-1997, Central Missouri State University in 1994 and Texarkana College in 1989-1993. He got his start in coaching as an assistant at Arkansas in 1985-1988.
Prior to his coaching career, Van Horn was named to the all-tournament team for the 1980 NJCAA Baseball World Series playing for McLennan Community College. He then played at Arkansas and was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 10th round of the 1982 amateur draft before spending 3 years in the minors.
He is not to be confused with broadcaster Dave Van Horne.
