Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Tyler Webb began his professional career in 2013 after being taken by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2013 amateur draft. He had been previously drafted by the Cincinnati Reds.
The relief pitcher averaged more than 12 strikeouts per nine innings in each of his first two pro campaigns. In 2014, he reached Triple A for the first time and he was an Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star. He earned a spot in the Arizona Fall League in 2015.
The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in the 2016 Rule V Draft, but returned him to the Yankees on April 1, 2017. He then made his big league debut with the Yankees three months later, on June 24th when he pitched an inning and a third of scoreless relief in a loss to the Texas Rangers. Less than a month later, on July 13th, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in return for 1B Garrett Cooper. In his first outing for his new team, however, he gave up a grand slam to Nick Williams of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 6th inning on July 16th, the key blow in a 5-2 loss.
