2023 Confederation Cup
The 2023 Confederation Cup was held from June 7 to June 11, 2023 in Karlovac, Croatia. The event again had seven teams participating, two from Spain and one apiece from Belgium, France, Switzerland, Croatia and Austria.

June 7[edit]
- Astros Valencia 5, Hoboken Pioneers 2. Ricardo Hernández saves Jorge Balboa's win over Bebee Brayden. Blake Ochoa drives in a pair. C Benjamin Goffaux scores both Belgian runs.
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 15, Therwil Flyers 0. The other Spanish team also opens with a win as Leslie Nacar and Yancarlo Franco combine on a six-inning mercy rule four-hitter. SS Edison Valerio scores four while 1B/2B Jesús Ustariz drives in four. Jonah Schaller takes the loss.
- Olimpija Karlovac 5, Vienna Wanderers 2. The hosts win their opener as Carlos Eduardo Garcia goes the distance to beat Andrew Silva. LF Andreas Lastinger scores a pair as Austria takes a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth before Karlovac rallies. 1B Petar Rumora has three hits and two runs.
June 8[edit]
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 7, Savigny Lions 1. Luis Gomez allows one run in five innings of relief for the victory against Firmin Hassed. C Ian Péres drives in four while C/3B Ivan Acuña has two of France's three hits.
- Hoboken Pioneers 13, Vienna Wanderers 2. Kevin De Smedt and Brendan Verspreet allow three hits altogether, while their teammate SS Drew Janssen has that many on his own as well as 3 RBI. Lukas Inmann takes the defeat.
- Astros Valencia 3, Olimpija Karlovac 0. Spanish teams go to 4-0 as 43-year-old Cuban Yosvani Torres throws a four-hitter, C Jose Marrero driving in two of their three runs. Pavao Karin turns in a solid complete game effort in the loss.
June 9[edit]
- Savigny Lions 14, Therwil Flyers 4. Switzerland gets roughed up again as 3B Ivan Acuña scores five and CF Léo Jiminian drives in four while Lilian Amoros goes the distance. Ferlon Gijsbertha takes the loss, while SS Tabanobu Oshima drives in three for Therwil.
- Astros Valencia 9, Vienna Wanderers 8. Vienna nearly pulls off a stunner, rallying for five in the 9th to tie it at eight before a bases-loaded walk to 1B Tanner Donnels (his third walk of the day) forced in the winner in the bottom of the 9th. Alejandro Martin got the win over Luis Portner. C Christoph Hoscher raps four hits for Vienna.
- Hoboken Pioneers 10, Olimpija Karlovac 4. Drew Janssen has quite a day, striking out 11 in 6 innings for the win, driving in three and playing first and center after leaving the mound; Lucas Rizzi saved the win by going the final three. Garrett Parkins is the losing pitcher, while SS Jorman Alcala is 2 for 3 with a walk for Croatia.
June 10[edit]
- Vienna Wanderers 14, Therwil Flyers 3. Austria gets its first win as DH Felix Zimmerle scores four runs and 1B Andrew Silva drives in four. Fabian Hirnschal beats Peter Sieli. 2B Ferlon Gijsbertha's homer is a bright spot for Therwil.
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 13, Hoboken Pioneers 1. Spanish teams remain unbeaten as Julio Torrealba goes the distance while Kevin De Smedt is chased in the third. 2B Yancarlo Franco, 3B Wander Encarnacion and CF Lesther Galván each have two runs and two RBI. Belgium's lone run scores when Dennis De Quint drives in Benjamin Goffaux.
- Savigny Lions 4, Astros Valencia 1. After starting 6-0, Spain's team finally take a loss. CF Léo Jiminian has three hits (including a homer) and Gilbert Perdomo and Gédéon Coste combine to fan 14. Veteran Ricardo Hernández takes the loss. 3B Michel Rodriguez homers off Perdomo for Valencia's only tally.
June 11[edit]
- Olimpija Karlovac 17, Therwil Flyers 3. The hosts rout Switzerland as Carlos Eduardo Garcia goes to 2-0 and C Philip Smith drives in six; Jonah Schaller takes the loss and LF Jose Javier Rodriguez goes 4-for-4 for the Flyers, who finish last and lose the Swiss spot in the Confederation Cup.
- Astros Valencia 7, Hoboken Pioneers 6. Bebee Brayden allows no hits in five as Belgium builds a 6-0 lead only to blow it as Spain rallies off the bullpen to take the Bronze. 3B Drew Janssen drives in three in a losing cause, while a sac fly scores Luis Galicia with the winner in the 10th.
- Marlins Puerto Cruz 9, Savigny Lions 1. Unlike the Bronze Medal Game, the Gold Medal Game is a one-sided affair; like the Bronze Medal Game, the Spanish team wins, giving the country a spot in the 2024 European Champions Cup. Jose Diaz allows one run in eight and MVP CF Lesther Galván has three hits and five RBI. Joss Neyraud is handed the loss.
