Confederation Cup
(Redirected from CEB Cup)
The Confederation Cup was originally called the CEB Cup and a European Cup competition similar to the European Cup and the European Cupwinners Cup and was behind those two competitions in terms of prestige. It was first played in 1993 and ran until 2007, when it, along with the Cupwinners Cup, were both discontinued. It was restarted in 2016, now as the second-tier event behind the European Cup, for which it was a qualifier and ahead of the new Federations Cup. In 2022, it became the Confederation Cup. In 2024, the event became the European Cup as the old European Cup became the European Champions Cup.
After 2001, the Italian Baseball League stopped sending its teams. Dutch Hoofdklasse teams only entered the CEB Cup once, in 1995. As a result, some of the lesser European leagues had a better chance for titles.
