Biographical Information[edit]

Brendan Verspreet has played in the First Division and for the Belgian national team. His twin brother Xander Verspreet has played for Belgium as well. [1]

Verspreet had a 6.48 ERA in seven games for the 2016 Hoboken Pioneers, going 2 for 24 with a walk, 2 runs and a RBI. [2] He did not play in the 2017 First Division. In the 2017 U23 European Championship, he allowed 3 runs in 5 innings for Belgium. [3] In 2018, he was 1-3 with a 7.77 ERA and .316 opponent average for Hoboken while going 4 for 38 on offense with 7 walks, 3 runs and a RBI. [4]

He improved to 1-2, 4.73 in 18 games for the Pioneers in 2019 while going 2 for 4 at the plate. Only Robbe De Jongh (21) pitched more games in the First Division that year. [5] He debuted for the Belgian senior national team at the 2019 European Championship. He got into one game, relieving Yannick Gontier in the 8th with a 11-5 deficit against Bronze-bound Spain. He got Jesús Ustariz on a fly but Daniel Martinez homered and Javier Monzón doubled. Verspreet retired Yancarlo Franco then Omar Hernández pinch-hit and singled in Spain's 13th run. Verspreet recovered to get Jhonny Bethencourt to end the inning. [6]
