Third baseman Dennis De Quint has played for a decade for the Hoboken Pioneers; he also was on their softball team from 2005-2008. He debuted at age 15, going 2 for 13 with four walks in 2000. He was 7 for 32 with a triple, homer and five walks in '01. He hit .174/.347/.196 in 2002 and fielded .879. In '03, De Quint hit only .184/.326/.197 and fielded .872 yet still made the Belgian national team for the 2003 European Championship; he did not play in that event.

De Quint improved to .277/.360/.308 in 2004 and .282/.402/.338 in 2005. He hit .246/.458/.290 in 2006 and .300/.378/.382 in 2007. In '08, he improved to .354/.448/.556 with a career-high (to that point) 15 doubles, 45 runs, 36 RBI and four homers. He fielded .894.

He played two games in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, going 1 for 4 with four walks, a run and a RBI. He made two errors in six chances at the hot corner. In '09, Dennis batted .366/.478/.458 for Hoboken and fielded .899; he also stole 12 bases in 13 tries. He came up big in the Belgian Series; in game 3, he hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 8th to break a 3-3 tie with the defending champion Port of Antwerp Greys to give Hoboken its first title in 39 years.
