Biographical Information[edit]

Christoph Hoscher has played in the Austrian Baseball League and for the Austrian national team.

Hoscher played for Austria's team in the 2015 PONY League World Series. [1] He debuted in the ABL in 2016 with the Vienna Wanderers, going 2 for 25 with two walks. [2] In the 2016 CEB Cup, he backed up Samuel Hackl, going 1 for 6 with a walk. [3]

In 2017, he took over the catching job for Vienna as Hackl switched clubs; the teenager hit .222/.270/.2890. He was 2 for 14 with a walk, double and three runs in the 2017 European Championship U23. [4] He improved to .247/.293/.341 for the '18 Wanderers. He was 0 for 4 in the 2018 European Championship Playoff as Austria won a spot in the 2019 European Championship. [5]

Christoph batted .246/.304/.341 in 2019, fielding .990. [6] He played for Austria in the 2019 European Championship, backing up Hackl behind the dish. In his debut, he closed out a game against Italy, replacing Claus Seiser at catcher after Seiser left for a pinch-hitter (Hackl was DH that day). He got to play the whole game against Spain, grounding out against Jorge Balboa and Leslie Nacar and handling three putouts. Spain did not try to steal. [7]

With the 2020 Wanderers, he was at .234/.314/.312.
