1997 Division II College World Series

The 1997 Division II College World Series was held at Paterson Field in Montgomery, AL. The eight schools qualified by winning one of eight regional tournaments. The tournament was won by Cal State Chico, coached by Lindsay Meggs. The runner-up was the University of Central Oklahoma. Tampa catcher Angel Diaz was named the series Most Outstanding Player, despite not making it to the championship game.
