1979 Division II College World Series

The 1979 Division II College World Series was held at Robin Roberts Park in Springfield, IL. The eight schools qualified by winning one of eight regional tournaments. The tournament was won by Valdosta State College, coached by Tommy Thomas. The runner-up was Florida Southern College. Valdosta St. outfielder Frank DeGennaro was named the series Most Outstanding Player.
