West Palm Beach, FL

From BR Bullpen

West Palm Beach is located on Florida's southwestern Atlantic Ocean coast, 40 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, FL. The smaller city of Palm Beach, FL lies across the laguna on a coastal island, while Palm Beach Gardens, FL is to the north. It was a long-time spring training site, until the construction of a modern complex in Jupiter, FL, 15 miles to the north, in the late 1990s, which also serves as the home ballpark for the area's teams.

In 2017, a new spring training complex, shared by the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, opened in the city. It was a return home for the Nationals, as their earlier incarnation, the Montréal Expos, had used West Palm Beach as spring training site from 1969 to 1971 and from 1981 to 1997 before moving to Jupiter.
