Biographical Information[edit]
Ned Harris was the starting right fielder on the 1942 and 1943 Detroit Tigers. He led the starters in slugging percentage in 1942. Although he played during the war years, eventually he, too, served in the war. He also played service ball, appearing with the NAS Honolulu Crossroaders in 1945, along with Johnny Pesky and other major leaguers.
He was at Brewton-Parker College in 1938. The book Textile League Baseball says he played for Chiquola in 1936-37.
