Team History[edit]
The Appleton Foxes played in the Midwest League for nearly three decades. The team used the Fox Cities Foxes moniker from 1958-1961, and again from 1963-1966. In 1995 the team changed its name to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Alex Rodriguez was on the roster at the beginning of the club's final season as the Foxes in 1994. He would get called up to AA Jacksonville and ultimately to Seattle during the season. Other notable former Foxes include Hall of Famer Goose Gossage as well as Harold Baines, Daryl Boston, Britt Burns, John Cangelosi, Brian Downing, Terry Forster, LaMarr Hoyt, Lamar Johnson, Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Greg Walker, and Kenny Williams.
