HSV Sparta/Feyenoord

From BR Bullpen

HSV Sparta/Feyenoord was a member of the Hoofdklasse. Based in Rotterdam, Sparta/Feyenoord was formed in 1998 by the merger of the Sparta team (started in 1942) and Feyenoord (started in 1954). They played at the Sportpark Beverwaard.

Neither Feyenoord nor Sparta/Feyenoord won any titles, but Sparta won 9 titles in a dazzling 12-year period - in 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974. During that era, the team was led by the "magnificent trio" of Hamilton Richardson, Simon Arrindell and Hudson John. They ended their run in October 2012 due to financial problems.
