The 2005 Hoofdklasse season saw DOOR Neptunus win their record seventh straight Holland Series. They beat Mr. Cocker HCAW in the final for the fifth consecutive time.

Sparta/Feyenoord made the playoffs for the first time since 1997.

Former major leaguer Ivanon Coffie led the league in homers and OBP but the big offensive star was Dirk van 't Klooster.
