Paul van den Oever

Paul van den Oever has coached for the Dutch national team.

Van den Oever was an outfielder in his playing days. He appeared in Hoofdklasse from 1971-1975 and 1978-1980 for Feyenoord and the Euro Stars. He played in over 170 games in the top Dutch league.

After retiring as a player, van den Oever became a coach, first appearing in 1994 with the Neptunus farm team Tridents. From 1998-2006, van den Oever was bench coach for DOOR Neptunus as they won the Holland Series each season from 1999-2005 as one of the greatest Hoofdklasse dynasties ever.

Van den Oever's former head coach at Neptunus, Robert Eenhoorn, added him to the national team coaching staff in 2007. He was with the team for the 2007 World Port Tournament, 2007 European Championship and 2008 Olympics.
