2007 World Port Tournament

From BR Bullpen

The 2007 World Port Tournament was the 11th World Port Tournament and the seventh won by the Cuban national team. It was held from August 2 through August 12, 2007. In the Gold Medal game, Cuba beat the Taiwan national team 2-0 behind the pitching of Yadel Martí and Yulieski González as Hector Olivera scores the game's only two runs. Taiwan (4-5) finished second, followed by the USA (4-4), Netherlands (4-4) and Japan (0-8). It was one of the best World Port Tournaments as Cuba sent a strong team instead of a "B" squad and the US sent their college national team, full of top prospects.
