Jan Collins

• Born July 24, 1948

Catcher Jan Collins played for Neptunus from 1978-1990. The Aruban native became a player-coach in 1989 and was head coach from 1995-1998. He guided Neptunus to the Hoofdklasse title in 1995. In 1998, he was interim head coach between Bill Froberg and Robert Eenhoorn. He returned to an assistant role, then was named head coach again following the 2010 season. He held the role through 2012 then moved back to an assistant role once more, this time with Evert-Jan 't Hoen becoming head coach. His son Victor Collins and grandsons Darryl Collins and Darnell Collins later played for Neptunus; Darryl also played in the US minors. He also coached for the Dutch national team in the 1990 Baseball World Cup.
