The 1996 Hoofdklasse had eight teams playing 35 games. Mr. Cocker HCAW won their first Hoofdklasse title by beating Vrienden Kinheim in the Holland Series.

Kinheim's Mike Crouwel was named Hoofdklasse MVP while Geoffry Kohl of Tropicana Neptunus won the Best Pitcher award.
