Biographical Information[edit]

Craig McGinnis was a top American pitcher in the Hoofdklasse.

McGinnis was Pitcher of the Year in 1982 and from 1984-1986, all with Giants Diemen; in between, Haitze de Vries took the honor in '83. He was the third pitcher to win four Pitcher of the Year awards, following Han Urbanus and Herman Beidschat. He had seven straight seasons of 10+ wins, a record until Eelco Jansen broke it in 2004. His 113 wins were a career record for lefties until Richard Orman topped it in 2006. He was in the top five in career wins for a while but has fallen off that list. His 1,571 whiffs were second to Bart Volkerijk though he has since fallen down the chart. He threw the first perfect game in Hoofdklasse annals, in 1989; eight years later, Jansen became the second to do so. He was head coach of HCAW from 1994-1997, winning the 1996 Holland Series.
