The 2003 Hoofdklasse title was again won by DOOR Neptunus. It was a fifth straight championship for the Rotterdam club, equaling OVVO's record for consecutive Hoofdklasse titles. OVVO won from 1949-1953.

RHP Rob Cordemans of Neptunus won the Triple Crown and was named Pitcher of the year. At age 15 for most of the year, Greg Halman still led the league in triples, on his way to the US major leagues. Former major leaguer Ralph Milliard also appeared while Jurjan Koenen won the MVP.
