† The Carolina League operates on a split season schedule with the divisional winner of the first half playing the divisional winner of the second for the division title. Since 2001, in the event that the same team wins both halves, that team plays a wild card team. Prior to that, the team got a bye. The Indians have occupied the four-team Southern Division of the league since their creation in 1987.
