Biographical Information[edit]

Over nine years after making his Major League debut, Aaron Holbert made his second big league appearance on August 16, 2005 with the Cincinnati Reds. He struck out as a pinch hitter against Jeff Fassero. He got his first big league hit on August 27 of that year. After the 2006 season, Holbert was named coach of the Billings Mustangs. He became the manager of the Lake County Captains in 2008.

He is the brother of Ray Holbert.

Holbert was praised as a defensive specialist in the minor leagues. Holbert's inability to get a cup of coffee in the big leagues stands as a shining example of how modern era baseball has no place for defensive specialists.
