2020 Korea Baseball Organization

(Redirected from 2020 KBO)

The 2020 Korea Baseball Organization season was the 39th for the KBO. It received more attention than most; as South Korea controlled COVID-19 better than most other countries, the KBO season was the top league active for a period (the 2020 CPBL, a lesser circuit, had started even earlier). The KBO was also one of the first leagues to allow fans in, but had to stop having fans for a period as COVID-19 rates increased. Jung-hoo Lee set a new record with 49 doubles.

Awards[edit]

The KBO MVP went to kt Wiz outfielder Mel Rojas Jr., the first winner born in Latin America. He fell .005 shy of a Triple Crown in his 4th season with the Wiz. His teammate Hyeong-jun So won KBO Rookie of the Year after posting a 13-6, 3.86 record; he was the first rookie fresh from high school to win double-digit games since Hyun-jin Ryu in 2007.

The following players won Gold Gloves, which in the KBO go to the best overall player at each position are not a defensive (only) award.
