2014 Pacific League Most Valuable Player Award
The 2014 Pacific League Most Valuable Player Award went to Chihiro Kaneko of the Orix Buffaloes, who went 16-5 with a 1.98 ERA and 199 K in 191 IP. He led the league in wins and ERA and was second in strikeouts. It was a much closer race than in 2013, when Masahiro Tanaka got all 233 first-place votes. This year, Kaneko got barely half the first-place votes.
