2007 Central League Most Valuable Player Award
The 2007 Central League Most Valuable Player Award went to Yomiuri Giants first baseman Michihiro Ogasawara, who had hit .313/.363/.539 with 31 homers and 95 runs, finishing second in runs and total bases. He was the second player to win a MVP in both the CL and Pacific League, following Yutaka Enatsu. It was a competitive vote, with five players getting at least 20 first-place votes and 13 getting first-place votes; Ogasawara wasn't even named to the top three on almost half the ballots.
