1996 Central League Most Valuable Player Award
The 1996 Central League Most Valuable Player Award went to Yomiuri Giants slugger Hideki Matsui, who hit 38 homers and led the league with 303 total bases. It was his first CL MVP. His teammate Masaki Saito, who led the league in wins, was only 6 points shy to win this award.
