Biographical Information

Balvino Galvez was the first foreigner (not of Korean descent) to win a game in a Korean Series, taking Game 1 of the 2001 Korean Series for the Samsung Lions.

Galvez's son, Brian Cavazos-Galvez, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2009 amateur draft. The two had lost contact when Brian was 10.
