1987 Central League Most Valuable Player Award

The 1987 Central League Most Valuable Player Award went to Yomiuri Giants catcher Kazuhiro Yamakura, who won the Gold Glove and led the Giants as they won the Central League Championship. The closer of the Giants, Yoshitaka Katori, was only three points shy of Yamakura in a very close vote.
