Relieving Xiang Wang in the 6th, he retired Ryo Kinami, walked Kazuya Shimokawa then Hiroki Nakagawa hit into a force and Motoki Mukoyama went down swinging. He walked Shoji Kitamura and Tatsuhiko Satoh to open the 7th but Changlong Su (20 years older than Suo) came in and escaped the jam. His other outing, he walked 2 in 1 2/3 shutout innings against Silver Medal winner Taiwan, relieving Jian Yi to close out their 4-1 loss. While he did not give up a hit in 2 2/3 IP, his five walks tied Vladimir Eguia, Quan Gan and Ningji Li for 8th-most in the tournament. [2]

Alexander Schmidt then knocked in another run with a fly ball, and Suo forced Eric Brenk to ground into a double play. He then retired Lou Helmig, but he plunked Lucas Dunn and Yannic Walther reached base due to Wenbin Xing's error. Shawn Larry added a 2-run double, and Jeremy Wu-Yelland replaced him after he walked Simon Baumgardt.
