Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuya Shimokawa played for NTT East Japan in the industrial leagues after college. He made the Japanese national team for the 2019 Asian Championship. He hit .428/.466.857 with 7 RBI and a event-leading 7 runs in the first five games (tied with Juan Diego Lozano). The second baseman was 8th in slugging, tied Jin Yang for second in RBI (two behind Tatsuhiko Satoh) Shimokawa also blasted a home run off Guoqing Liu of China. In the Gold Medal Game, he hit 1st and going 2-for-5 in a 4-5 loss to Taiwan.
