Guoqing Liu has pitched in the minors and for the Chinese national team.
Liu was 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA for the 2018 Texas AirHogs, who had begun an arrangement with China to host members of the national team. He had a 0-1, 5.53 record and two saves for the 2019 AirHogs. He was with China for the 2019 Asian Championship. Against Silver Medal winner Japan, he relieved Haonan Zhang in the 2nd and went 3 innings (5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) before Song Ran relieved; he was one of China's better hurlers in a 11-1 mercy rule loss. In the Bronze Medal Game against South Korea, he took over for Quan Gan in the 4th and pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings (1 H, 1 BB, 3 K) before Enting Cui relieved; China would come back for a 8-6 win for their second Bronze in Asian Championship annals.
