Biographical Information

Haonan Zhang has pitched in the minors and for the Chinese national team.

Zhang was 0-4 with a 7.50 ERA for the 2018 Texas AirHogs, walking 23 in 24 innings; the team boasted many Chinese players. He spent 2019 with the Guangdong Leopards of the China Baseball League. He also pitched for China in the 2019 Asian Championship, starting and taking the loss against Japan (3 H, 3 BB, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 IP before Guoqing Liu took over) and Taiwan (5 H, 1 BB, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 IP before Song Ran relieved). China won the Bronze. Zhang tied Rizwan Ali and Sasika Jayasinghe Archichige Don for the tourney lead in losses.
