Biographical Information[edit]

Song Ran has been a pitcher for the China Baseball League's Sichuan Dragons. Ran replaced Liu to open the 6th and quickly retired Yosvani Peraza and Erisbel Arruebarruena. He gave up singles to Guillermo Heredia Jr. and Yasmani Tomás before retiring Raúl González to end the frame. He also played in the 2013 East Asian Games.

He threw two shutout innings (3 hits, one walk, 3 strikeouts) in the 2014 Asian Games. He teamed with Xiang Zhang, Ziliang Li, Liu, Jianzeng Sun and Qingyuan Meng in a no-hitter of Mongolia, being the third hurler of the combined effort. In the 2015 Asian Championship, he threw a shutout inning of relief against Japan but gave up 4 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs in four inning in a start and loss against eventual Gold Medalist Taiwan.
