Biographical Information[edit]
Ryo Kinami was a catcher for Nippon Tsuun in the industrial leagues when he was picked for the Japanese national team for the 2017 Asian Championship. He backed up Yuki Yamauchi and Takumi Oshiro at catcher, going 2 for 4 with a double, homer, two runs and four RBI; his big hit was a three-run shot off Pakistan's Wali Muhammad. Japan took the Gold; he got into the Gold Medal Game but did not register an at-bat.
