Burgersdijk debuted with ADO in 2006, with a save and a 3.45 ERA. [1] He fell to 0-2 with a 12.00 ERA in the 2007 Hoofdklasse. He was out of the top league in '08 but returned in 2009 with a 0-8, 5.19 ERA as one of the team's better hurlers. He tied Kevin Miner for third in the league in losses. In 2010, he switched to Almere and was 1-5 with a 4.32 ERA. He tied for 7th in losses.

During 2011, he was 0-4 with a save and a 7.47 ERA for HCAW. Back with HCAW in 2012, he was 2-8 with a 5.33 ERA but was one of the better starters on a bad team. He tied Diegomar Markwell for 8th in the loop in K (62) and tied Gregory Gustina for 5th in losses. He was 2-7 with a 4.79 ERA for UVV, his 5th team, in 2013. He tied Sander Helmendach for 5th in losses. [2]

The right-hander was 4-3 with two saves and a 4.04 ERA for ADO in the 2014 Hoofdklasse. He tied for 8th in the league in saves. He then began a three-year stint with the Amsterdam Pirates, playing for a serious contender rather than one of the also-rans. He allowed three runs (one earned) in seven innings to beat Dan Camou and the Paris Université Club in the 2015 European Cup. [3] In the 2015 Hoofdklasse, he was 4-2 with a 3.82 ERA.

He allowed four runs in 3 2/3 IP against rival Neptunus Rotterdam in the 2016 European Champions Cup but Amsterdam won the Cup for the first time in its history. [4] He was 8-3 with a 2.25 ERA in the 2016 Hoofdklasse, finishing among the leaders in ERA (9th, between Kyle Ward and Maickel Rietel), IP (76, 9th) and wins (4th, between Kenny Vandenbranden and Markwell). [5] In the 2016 Holland Series, he saved Tom de Blok's opening win over Neptunus, retiring former minor leaguer Rien Vernooij and three-time Holland Series MVP Benjamin Dille. Shaldimar Daantji tripled but Burgersdijk retired Christian Diaz to end it. The next game, though, he was hit by a liner from Dashenko Ricardo and missed the rest of the Series. [6]

Burgersdijk had a 4.91 ERA in two outings in the 2017 European Champions Cup. [7] He was 0-2 with a save and a 3.60 ERA in the 2017 Hoofdklasse, moving to a bullpen role. He gave up three runs in 2/3 of an inning in the 2017 Holland Series as Amsterdam fell to Neptunus again. [8] Ending his three-year stint with Amsterdam, he played for HCAW in 2018, going 6-3 with 3 saves and a 2.50 ERA. He tied Kevin Heijstek and Misja Harcksen for 6th in wins and tied for 6th in saves.

He had a 4-5, 3.43 record in 2019, tying for the league lead in starts on the hill and tying for 8th in losses. In 2020, he was 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA. In a season shortened by COVID-19, he was among the leaders in ERA (he was the only qualifier! Orlando Yntema nearly qualified and had a better mark), IP (48, 1st, 5 1/3 ahead of Luuk ter Beek), strikeouts (34, tied for 5th with Juan Carlos Sulbaran) and wins (tied Naut Kragt and ter Beek for 4th). [9] He improved to 9-1, 2.27 in 2021. The veteran tied Lars Huijer for second in wins (one behind Markwell), tied Ryan Huntington for second with two complete games (one behind Huijer), tied for second in starts (13), was second in IP (83 1/3, 16 2/3 behind Markwell), tied Huijer for the shutout lead (2) and made the top 10 in ERA.

Dennis was on the Dutch team for the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week and the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
