Biographical Information[edit]

Darier Malone was on the first British women's national team.

Malone played college softball in the US, hitting .324 in 2014. [1] When Britain formed their first women's national team, she and Claury Scatliffe were the only British Virgin Islanders on the team; previously, four men from the BVI had played for the British men's team (Nateshon Thomas since 2016, Kennard Dawson, Demoi Hodge and Shamoy Christopher joining in 2019). [2] In their debut game at the 2022 European Women's Championship, she batted third and played third. She drew a walk from Karolína Blažková of Czechia her first time up and came around to score. Her first hit, off Denisa Józsová, drove in Kirstie Wright. She finished the day 2-for-3 with three walks, two steals, three runs and three RBI as the Brits won their debut. She was 1 for 4 with 3 walks, a steal (caught once), two runs and a RBI in their other two games, while fielding .824 at the hot corner for the event. She was among the tourney leaders in RBI (5th, one behind Kateřina Maříková, Scatliffe, Amy Trask and Anouk Vergunst), walks (tied for first with Gabriella Sassoli and Blažková), average (tied Marjorie Brunel for 4th), OBP (6th), steals (tied for 6th with Ambre Brouard, Angélique André and Kateřina Popelková), assists (11, 1st, one ahead of Léna Sellam) and errors (3, tied for first with Tereza Stejspalová and Ciska Welboren).
