Kateřina Maříková had played and coached softball before joining the Czech women's national baseball team for the 2022 European Women's Championship. One teammate was a player with a nearly identical name, Kateřina Marková. In her debut, she relieved Karolína Blažková in the 3rd with two on, one out and a 9-4 deficit against Great Britain. She got Claury Scatliffe on a pop-up, walked Antonio Ferguson and Marianna Casal to force in a run. Gabriella Sassoli hit a three-run double to make it 13-4 and Kelly Wright hit into a run-scoring error. She retired Amy Trask to end the inning. Denisa Józsová took over to open the 4th. She was charged with the loss despite entering with a deficit and her team never catching up. She also caught two games, going 0-for-2 with a RBI at the plate.
