Biographical Information[edit]

Kelly Wright was on the first British women's national team. She joined her identical twin sister Kirstie Wright; they are both doctors for the National Health Service. [1]

She played for the Sheffield Bruins in the British Baseball League in 2022, going 1-for-19 with 9 walks and two runs against mostly male competition. She fielded .917. She was not the only lady on the team, which included Tsz-Chin Lau. [2] When Britain's first female team took the field, for the 2022 European Women's Championship, she played in all three games. In their opener against Czechia, she hit 8th and started in left. She struck out against Karolína Blažková her first time up, then walked and came around to score. Her third time up, she reached on an error. Antonia Ferguson later took over in left (moving from right). Her next game, she started at second and drew a walk from Zoë Lageweg of the Netherlands then was retired by Ciska Welboren before being replaced by Lhiez Dela Paz. In her last game, she took over at second late against France and drew a walk from Coralie Guillemin to give her walks in half her plate appearances. [3]
