Alaska Baseball League

The Alaska Baseball League is a Summer Collegiate Baseball league with six teams located in four Alaskan cities. The league was founded in 1974. In 1980 the Oilers and Pilots left the ABL to create the Alaska Central Baseball League, which the Mat-Su Miners joined at the time of their inception in 1980. It wasn't until 1998 that the original teams rejoined the ABL, bringing the Mat-Su Miners with them.

ABL teams have captured sixteen National Baseball Congress World Series championships since the league began but no longer sends its teams to Wichita, KS as the ABL now holds its own playoffs.
