Wisconsin-Illinois League

From BR Bullpen

In 1908 the Eau Claire Tigers of the Wisconsin State League moved to Rockford, IL, giving the league two teams in Illinois (Freeport, IL 1905-1907) and causing the league to be renamed the Wisconsin-Illinois League. In 1910 the league was upgraded from class D to class C. It continued operation through the 1914 season, representing fourteen cities through the seven year run. Ten hailed from Wisconsin, three from Illinois and one from Michigan. The Oshkosh, WI: entry was the only squad to win more than one title, copping three in a row, 1913, 1914 & 1915 to close out the league's last three years. The league became the Bi-State League in 1915 playing for one year, before folding.
