Mike Malloy
John Michael Malloy
- High School Englewood High School (Chicago)
Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Mike Malloy played in the minor leagues from 1909 to 1910 and from 1912 to 1913. Perhaps his best campaign was 1910, when he hit .281 with 113 hits and 15 doubles in 110 games for the Red Wing Manufacturers; he also managed the club that year. He'd also led the Minnesota-Wisconsin League with 75 runs scored in 1909. In addition, he managed the Wausau Lumberjacks in 1912 and 1913 and the LaCrosse Infants in 1917.
One source claims he also played for the Santa Cruz Sand Crabs and Dubuque Dubs in 1908.[1] His The Sporting News contract card says he was a scout for the "Feds" in 1914—one might assume that means the Chicago Chi-Feds of the Federal League, which would make sense, as his contract card also says he lived in Chicago.[2]
