Santa Barbara is located on the Pacific Ocean coast of southern California, 20 miles west of Ventura, CA.

Eddie Mathews, although he was not born in Santa Barbara, went to school there. He worked on his skills on the field at La Cumbre Middle School, and later attended Santa Barbara High School.

The Santa Barbara Foresters, an amateur team, won the 2006 and 2008 National Baseball Congress World Series.
